What We've Accomplished

Although we are just getting going, we’ve accomplished a lot in the last few years:

  • Worked with Talbot County Council to establish a Bike and Pedestrian Advisory Committee to create a Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan for the County, among other initiatives
  • Held our first Rolling Rodeo on October 19 at Easton Elementary School
  • Awarded an MDOT Highway Safety Grant to host three Rolling Rodeos in Talbot County in 2024 and 2025.
  • In 2023 Talbot Thrive was instrumental in securing a $30,000 Kim Lamphier Bikeways Grant with the Town of Oxford for its Town Park Connector plan
  • We have partnered with the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy Regional Trails Network to promote a connected network of bike trails throughout the Eastern Shore
  • We’ve hosted main fundraising initiative/event Tour de Talbot in June over the last 3 years, bringing in over 500 cyclists per year and raising over $50,000 for community non-profits such as Carepacks, Mariah’s Mission and the YMCA of the Chesapeake
  • Participated in tabling and parade at Oxford Day in 2023 and 2024
  • Partnered with Discover Easton at Outdoor Movie night to provide free bike lights and helmet fittings to participants
